Frequently asked

How do I cancel my subscription?

Cancel anytime from the iOS Settings app: Settings → [your Apple ID at the top] → Subscriptions → SumiQ → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of the current billing cycle.

I bought SumiQ on another device — how do I restore?

Inside the app, open the paywall and tap Restore purchases at the bottom. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID that originally subscribed.

Where is my data stored?

All your transactions, categories, budgets, and lists are stored locally on your device and synced to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. The SumiQ developer never sees this data. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

How does the voice → AI categorization work?

Tap the microphone button and say what you spent — for example "lunch fourteen euros". iOS transcribes your voice (on-device whenever your iOS version supports it). The text is then sent to our AI service which matches it to one of your existing categories and pre-fills the new transaction. You confirm or adjust before saving.

What gets transmitted: the transcribed text, your list of category names, your locale (as a language hint), and an anonymous device identifier we use only for rate-limiting. Voice audio recordings, amounts of past transactions, dates, notes, names, and any other personal information are not transmitted.

I'm not in the US — is the app translated?

Yes — SumiQ is localised into 11 languages: English, Русский, Українська, Қазақша, O'zbekcha, Español, Deutsch, Français, Português (Brasil), 简体中文, and 日本語. Switch in Settings → Language.

How do I delete all my data?

Removing the SumiQ app from your iPhone deletes the local copy. To remove the data SumiQ keeps in your private iCloud container as well, open the iOS Settings app → [your Apple ID at the top] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → SumiQ → Delete Data from iCloud.

For a verified deletion of any anonymous record we may hold about your subscription (via RevenueCat) or for any other GDPR / data-subject request, email support@sumiq.me and we will action it within 30 days.

I want a refund

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by the developer. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the SumiQ purchase, and request a refund. Apple typically responds within 48 hours.
